Frame theory describes how the brain organizes experiences and new information using frames as basic elements. These frames act as skeletal structures that help users locate, perceive, identify, and label numerous occurrences. Users are often unaware of these frames as organizational tools. Erving Goffman has explored frame analysis to understand how the brain differentiates reality based on everyday events. Gregory Bateson introduced the term in 1955, likening it to bracketing information for future retrieval. When encountering new experiences, individuals adapt pre-existing frames, which provide rules for understanding social events and guide expectations and responses.
