Overview of the Mexican-American War

Skibidi, it all started when the U.S. and Mexico were lowkey beefing over Texas. In 1846, shots fired and the war kicked off. Fast forward two years, General Scott goes full sigma, capturing Mexico City and forcing Santa Anna to surrender. The Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo drops and suddenly, U.S. is flexing on those lands. Texas is now officially American, even though Mexico was like, nah fam, it is still ours. Polk tried to buy land, but Mexico was not having it, hence the goon move to send troops past the Nueces. Border drama was real, and the edge was palpable. A classic ship of conflict and expansion.
